These LISS-III images show the River Elbe near Wittenberg in Saxony, Germany. The image at the top shows the region in August 2000. The image at the bottom shows the region on August 16, 2002. The River Elbe is breaking its banks. Both images were acquired by the IRS-1C satellite. These pseudo-natural colour images have been generated by combining channel 3 (red) and channel 2 (green) of the multispectral data set with a synthetic blue channel, derived from the NIR, red and green signals.
