This WiFS image shows Etna, located in the eastern part of Sicily. The volcano is again active and as during the eruption in 2001 some lava flows have blocked roads. The impressive amounts of smoke and dust thrown into the atmosphere are clearly visible in the false colour image combining channels 4 (NIR), 3 (red) and 3 (red) of the WiFS data set.
